How to play Pricedle

Pricedle is a free daily price-guessing game. Every day you get the same five tech products as everyone else in the world, and ten seconds to guess what each one actually costs. No account, no email, no download — just a display name so the leaderboard has something to call you.

Pick a display name

One box, one time. It's what shows on the leaderboard and it can't be changed later, so choose something you're happy to be seen as. We never ask for an email.

Study the product

You see a photo, the product name and its brand — but never the price. A 3–2–1 countdown gives you a moment to size it up before the clock starts.

Guess before the clock runs out

You get 20 seconds on the first two rounds and 10 on the rest. Type a number and lock it in. The timer is enforced on our server, so refreshing the page won't buy you more time. Leave it blank or run out of clock and the round scores zero.

Repeat for all five rounds

Each round reveals the real price and what you scored, then moves straight on. Five products, 100 points on the table.

Share your grid and build a streak

You finish with an emoji grid you can share without spoiling anything. Come back tomorrow to keep your streak alive — a new puzzle drops at midnight IST.

Scoring

How points are calculated

Scoring is based on percentage error, not the cash difference — so being ₹2,000 out on a laptop is treated far more kindly than being ₹2,000 out on a pair of earphones. Each round is worth up to 20 points, for a maximum of 100 per day.

Strategy

Five tips to score better

1. Anchor on the category, then adjust. Decide roughly what bracket the product sits in — budget, mid-range or premium — before you worry about the exact number. Landing in the right bracket is usually worth 10–15 points; agonising over the last few hundred rupees rarely is.

2. Percentages beat precision. Because scoring is proportional, a wrong guess on a cheap item costs you far more than the same absolute error on an expensive one. Slow down on the small stuff.

3. Read the brand. The same spec sheet from a premium brand and a value brand can differ by 2–3× in price. Brand is often a stronger signal than the specification itself.

4. Remember these are live retail prices. Prices come from what the product actually sells for, not its launch price or MRP — so discounting on older models matters. If something looks like last year's model, guess lower than you think.

5. Don't overthink the clock. Ten seconds is deliberately short. A fast instinctive guess in the right bracket beats a slow, precise one that never gets locked in.

Pricedle is a free daily price-guessing game from Nopturnia. Each day you're shown five tech products and given a few seconds each to guess what they actually cost — 20 seconds on the first two rounds, then 10. You're scored on how close you get, out of 100, and everyone in the world plays the same five products that day.
It's completely free and there's no account to create. You choose a display name for the leaderboard and start playing — we don't ask for an email address or a password. Your profile is stored in your own browser.
A new puzzle goes live every day at midnight IST (India Standard Time, UTC+5:30). Everyone worldwide gets the same five products on the same day, which is what makes scores comparable. You get one attempt per day.
By percentage error, not absolute difference. Within 5% of the real price scores 20 points, within 15% scores 15, within 30% scores 10, and within 50% scores 5. Anything further out, or a round you don't answer, scores zero. Five rounds means a perfect day is 100 points.
The all-time board ranks by average points per game, not total points — so playing more often doesn't push you up the table on its own; playing well does. You need at least three completed games to appear, which stops a single lucky round outranking a consistent regular. The daily board ranks by that day's score, with ties broken by who was fastest.
That round scores zero and the game moves on to the next product. The ten-second timer runs on our server rather than in your browser, so reloading the page won't reset it — though there's a small allowance for network lag so a slow connection doesn't cost you a round.
Your streak counts consecutive days on which you finished a puzzle — your score doesn't matter, only that you played. Miss a day and it resets to one. Because your profile lives in your browser, clearing your browser data or switching to a different device starts a fresh profile and a fresh streak.
No — only today's puzzle is playable, and only once. That's deliberate: a single shared daily puzzle is what makes it worth comparing your grid with a friend's.
They're real retail prices for real products, taken from the same daily price tracking that powers Nopturnia's buying guides — not launch prices or MRP. Answers are in Indian rupees by default, but if you switch currency using the picker in the navigation bar, you can guess in your own currency and it'll be converted for you.
