Delete My Account
100% privateFind the deletion link for a service — or, when there isn’t one, write the request that actually obliges them to answer. Your name and email never leave this device.
Loading the directory…
- Easy
- Some steps
- Hard
- Near impossible
No match in the directory.
You can still write a request letter — choose Something else below and type the company name yourself. The rights in the letter do not depend on us having listed them.
Deletion is the usual ask. If a company refuses because it has to keep records, the other two are the requests it cannot refuse.
Typed here, used here. These go into the letter text in your browser and are never sent anywhere — there is no form submission on this page.
Add details that help
Companies stall on “we cannot identify your account”. Giving the ID up front removes that.
How it works
How to delete an account
Find the service
Search 481 services. Indian ones are listed first, because they are the ones other directories leave out.
Check how hard it is
Green means a real deletion page exists and you should just use it. Red or black means there is no self-serve route and a written request is the only way in.
Say what you want
Delete the account, get a copy of your data, or stop the company using it. Add your name and the email the account uses.
Send it, then keep it
Copy the letter into an email to the Grievance Officer. Keep the sent copy — the date you sent it is what starts the clock you can later hold them to.
Why this is private
A privacy tool that isn’t a privacy risk
You are about to type your full name, your registered email and possibly an account number. It would be absurd to send that to a server, so we don’t have one.
The letter is built in the page
Choosing a service and filling the form runs JavaScript already loaded in your browser. There is no form action, no POST, and nothing to intercept.
The directory is a plain file
Your browser downloads one list of services when the page opens, and searching filters it locally. What you search for is never sent anywhere — not even to us.
It works with the network off
Once the page has loaded, turn off your Wi-Fi and it still works. That is not a party trick; it is the proof that nothing needed to leave.
Being straight about the two things that do leave: Google Analytics records that this page was opened, the same as on any page here; and when you generate a letter the tool sends a single anonymous tick to our counter, carrying the slug delete-my-account and nothing else — not the service you chose, not a word you typed. Know what you can demand
Your rights in India, in plain English
A request works better when it names the rule the company is already bound by. Here is what actually applies today — not in 2027.
| Almost every app and website | Acknowledge in 24 hours, resolve in 15 days. The IT (Intermediary Guidelines) Rules 2021, rule 3(2), require an intermediary operating in India to publish a Grievance Officer and meet those deadlines. |
|---|---|
| Wallets, UPI apps, NBFCs, lenders | 30 days, then the Ombudsman. Complain in writing to the Grievance Redressal or Nodal Officer. If there is no reply in 30 days, or the reply is unsatisfactory, escalate free of charge to the RBI Integrated Ombudsman at cms.rbi.org.in or the 14448 helpline. |
| Brokers and demat accounts | 21 calendar days. A SEBI-regulated entity must file an Action Taken Report within 21 days of a complaint on SCORES 2.0 (scores.sebi.gov.in), which escalates automatically. Unresolved cases go to Smart ODR (smartodr.in) for binding conciliation and arbitration. |
| What they can lawfully keep | KYC records must be retained for five years after the account closes, under the RBI Master Direction on KYC and the PMLA 2002. So a bank or broker can refuse to erase KYC data while still being obliged to close the account and stop using your data for marketing. |
| The DPDP Act 2023 | Not yet usable. The Rules were notified on 14 November 2025, but the rights you would write to a company under — access, correction, erasure, grievance redressal — commence on 14 May 2027. This page will start citing them on that date, and not before. |

Questions
Deleting accounts, answered
Is anything I type here uploaded?
No. The directory is a file your browser downloads once, and the letter is assembled in the page. Your name, email and account ID are never transmitted — there is no form submission on this page and no server to receive one. You can prove it: open your browser's Network tab, fill the form in, and watch that nothing leaves.
Does deleting the app delete my account?
No, and this is the single most common mistake. Removing an app from your phone removes the app. The account, and everything the company holds against it, carries on exactly as before. You have to ask them to close it.
What if the company just ignores me?
That is what the escalation line in the letter is for. If the service is an intermediary operating in India, the IT Rules 2021 require its Grievance Officer to acknowledge you within 24 hours and resolve within 15 days. Miss that, and a regulated company can be taken to the RBI Ombudsman or SEBI SCORES — both free, both online.
Can a company legally refuse to delete my data?
Sometimes, yes, and any tool that tells you otherwise is lying. A bank, NBFC, wallet or broker must retain your KYC records for five years after the account closes, under the RBI Master Direction on KYC and the PMLA 2002. It can still be made to close the account and stop using your data for anything else — which is why this tool offers those as separate requests.
What is a Grievance Officer?
A named person that Indian law obliges most online services to publish contact details for, specifically so complaints have somewhere to land. Addressing your request to that role rather than to general support is what starts the statutory clock.
Does the DPDP Act apply yet?
Not to this. The DPDP Rules were notified on 14 November 2025, but the data principal rights — access, correction, erasure and grievance redressal — do not commence until 14 May 2027. Only the Data Protection Board's machinery is live today. That is why the letters here cite the IT Rules 2021 and the SPDI Rules 2011, which are enforceable now.
What about services with no India presence?
The letter drops every statutory citation and deadline, and becomes a plain, firm request. We will not put an Indian legal deadline in a letter to a company that Indian law does not reach — it would be wrong, and it would make the whole letter easy to dismiss.
How current is this list?
Every entry carries the date it was last checked, and anything we could not confirm against the company's own site is badged 'unverified' rather than quietly presented as fact. Deletion pages move constantly, so treat a link as a strong lead, not a guarantee.

Closing accounts takes weeks of chasing, not one sitting. Bookmark this so the escalation deadlines are here when you need them.
A link dead, or a service missing?
Deletion pages move constantly, and the Indian list is deliberately narrow for now. Tell us what you needed and couldn’t find — the form opens with the tool already filled in.
