IBPS photo, signature, thumb & declaration size

100% private

The four files the IBPS form asks for, the exact KB range each must land in, and a one-click resizer for each. Your photo and signature are never uploaded.

Resize each file to the IBPS limit

Tap the document you need. The compressor opens with the IBPS range already selected, and the result lands inside it — not just under the top.

The trap

Why IBPS rejects a file for being too small

Every IBPS limit is a range, and the form will not let you move forward until each file is inside it. Most free resizers only know “make it smaller”, which is exactly the wrong way round here.

The pixel size is too small for the KB floor

At the “preferred” 140 × 60 pixels, a signature saved at the highest JPG quality is only about 3 KB — well under the 10 KB minimum. A 200 × 230 photo usually lands around 9–16 KB, under its 20 KB floor.

So we add detail, not junk

IBPS calls the pixel sizes preferred but enforces the KB range. Our presets start at the preferred size and enlarge it — never beyond your original, never stretching it — until the file clears the minimum, then fit it under the maximum.

Inside both kinds of “KB”

Some portals count a kilobyte as 1,000 bytes, others as 1,024. The presets land between min × 1,024 and max × 1,000 bytes, so the file passes either way. If your original is too small to reach the floor, we tell you instead of saying “done”.

Before you scan

How to prepare each document

Photograph

A recent colour photo against a light, preferably white, background. Look straight at the camera with a relaxed face, no harsh shadows and no red-eye. Caps, hats and dark glasses are not acceptable; religious headwear is allowed if it does not cover your face. Need a white background? Our Background Remover does it on your device.

Signature

Sign on white paper with a black ink pen, in your normal running hand. A signature in CAPITAL LETTERS will not be accepted. Photograph it in good light, crop close to the ink, then resize.

Left thumb impression

Press your left thumb on white paper with black or blue ink. If you do not have a left thumb, IBPS lets you use your right thumb instead.

Handwritten declaration

Write this in English, in your own handwriting, on white paper with black ink — not in capital letters:
“I, ______ (Name of the candidate), hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required.”

One more step in the form itself: besides these uploads, IBPS asks you to capture a live photograph through your webcam or phone during registration. That part happens inside the IBPS portal — there is nothing to resize for it. Use the same appearance as in your uploaded photo; IBPS matches the two at the exam.

Questions

IBPS uploads, answered

What is the IBPS photo size in KB?
Between 20 KB and 50 KB, as a JPG, with 200 × 230 pixels preferred. The signature must be 10–20 KB, the left thumb impression 20–50 KB and the handwritten declaration 50–100 KB.
Why does the form say my signature is too small?
Because IBPS has a minimum as well as a maximum. A signature saved at exactly 140 × 60 pixels is only about 3 KB even at the best JPG quality, so it falls under the 10 KB floor. Our signature preset enlarges it from your original scan until it clears 10 KB, then keeps it under 20 KB.
Do I have to use exactly 200 × 230 pixels for the photo?
IBPS lists 200 × 230 as the preferred size; the file size range is what the form enforces. Our preset keeps your photo’s proportions and only goes larger than the preferred size when it has to in order to reach 20 KB.
Is my photo uploaded to your server?
No. The resizer runs entirely in your browser; your photo, signature and thumb impression are read from your own device and never sent anywhere. You can turn off your internet after the page loads and it still works.
Do these sizes apply to IBPS Clerk, SO and RRB too?
The figures here are from the PO/MT-XIV notification (2024 cycle), and we have not checked the other notifications line by line. If you are applying for Clerk, SO or RRB, read the scanning guidelines in that exam’s own notification before you upload; if their limits differ, these presets are not the right ones for you.
