The short version
GTA 6 comes out on 19 November 2026, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and Rockstar has held that date for almost a year. It is the game’s third date, after 2025 and then May 2026. What is still open is everything after launch day: when it reaches PC, whether it ever runs at 60fps, and when it first gets cheaper in India. Those are the three questions this page tracks, and the three I have made calls on.
Unusually for a game this size, most of what is known comes from Rockstar itself. The leaks are confined to the PC date and the frame rate, and they disagree with each other.

Pre-order GTA 6 now, or wait?
If you want to play on launch day, pre-order now: waiting is very unlikely to save you anything. We record Amazon.in prices every day, and the GTA 6 PS5 box has not moved by a rupee since we started, straight through the Great Indian Festival. My call is that it stays put until the new year, and the chart below is how you will see if I am wrong.
Two things to know before you buy the box. It holds a download code, not a disc, so you download the whole game either way and the boxed copy only arrives in shops on 12 November. And we found no Xbox Series X|S edition with a live offer on Amazon.in, and no live offer on the PS5 Digital Edition, so neither is listed. If you already own a PS5 and want something to play until then, GTA V is the last card.

The claims above are what other people said. These are what I say, kept separate on purpose: repeating a leak and then scoring myself on it would be marking my own homework. Each call is falsifiable and names what it will be scored against. As each one resolves I will write down what happened next to what I said — including the ones I get wrong.

Not yet scoredThe PC version of GTA 6 first goes on sale between 1 July 2027 and 31 March 2028, inclusive — later than the first-quarter-2027 window GamesBeat reported.
How I got there
A Nopturnia estimate, logged on 25 October 2026. Rockstar's two most recent console-first games reached PC 19 months (GTA V: September 2013 to April 2015) and about 13 months (Red Dead Redemption 2: October 2018 to November 2019) after their console launches. A PC release in the first quarter of 2027 would cut that to between two and four months, faster than anything Rockstar has done. I set the band at roughly 7 to 16 months after 19 November 2026 — shorter than both precedents, because Take-Two's CEO suggested in September that Grand Theft Auto will target platforms with "a meaningful audience", but well short of GamesBeat's window. If GamesBeat's four sources are right, this call misses, and I would rather it miss than widen it to cover them.
Scored against: The first date the PC version of Grand Theft Auto VI is playable (not pre-order) in any country, as announced by Rockstar.

How I got there
A Nopturnia estimate, logged on 25 October 2026, from our own record of the listing: it has held at ₹5,999 on every one of the 81 days we have recorded since 5 August, including every day of the Great Indian Festival since the sale opened on 8 October. A pre-order that did not move during Amazon's biggest sale of the year has little reason to move during its own launch rush. I expect the first discount in 2027, not before. If any day before 1 January 2027 records a price below ₹5,999, this call misses.
Scored against: Nopturnia's daily Amazon.in price record for ASIN B0H6X8VNQC from 25 October to 31 December 2026. The call is right only if no recorded day is below ₹5,999.

A Nopturnia estimate, logged on 25 October 2026. Rockstar's head of development was reported in August as saying the game runs at 30fps on console and as unable to confirm a 60fps mode; neither GTA V nor Red Dead Redemption 2 had one at launch; and Rockstar described its launch trailer only as captured on a PS5. The one claim of 60fps on the PS5 Pro comes from a single personality, with no documentation. A 60fps mode added by a later patch does not count against this call.

Most claims here are confirmed, because Rockstar has said a lot on the record. Mixed is used for GamesBeat’s PC window: it has four sources behind it, but Rockstar’s own history with PC ports contradicts it.
No claim goes on this page without a source that was actually opened and read, the exact words quoted from it, the date it was said and an archived copy. I link to the outlet that reported a leak as well as naming the leaker, because the outlet is what you can open and check. Leakers’ posts are never embedded: an embed disappears when the post is deleted, and the deleted ones are the ones that matter most.
