Gesture Privacy Policy
Gesture: Draw to Open Apps
App: Gesture (com.indroid.gesture), by Indroid Studio. This policy covers the Android app. The website you are reading it on has its own policy.
Effective 2 October 2026
Summary
In short
Gesture does not collect, store on any server, share or sell any information about you. The app has no internet permission, so it is technically unable to send data anywhere. There are no ads, no analytics and no accounts.
On your device
What the app keeps, and where
Everything Gesture stores stays on your device, in the app's private storage:
- The gestures you draw, and the name you give each one.
- What each gesture opens: an app's package name, a link you typed, or a phone number.
- Your settings, such as recognition sensitivity and the floating ring's colour and position.
Uninstalling the app deletes all of it.
Contacts
Contacts
Gesture does not have permission to read your contacts. When you choose "Call a contact" or "Message a contact", Android's own contact picker opens and you pick one person. Android then gives Gesture that one phone number, and only that one. Gesture saves the number with your gesture, on your device, so that drawing the gesture can start the call or message. It never sees your other contacts.
Files
Export and import
If you export your gestures, the app writes a file to a location you choose with Android's file picker. What happens to that file afterwards, for example if you save it to a cloud drive, is up to you and that service. Gesture only reads a file when you choose to import one.
Backup
Android backup
If Android backup is turned on for your device, Android may include the drawings of your gestures in your device backup. This is handled by Android and your Google account, not by Gesture, and the developer has no access to it. When moving directly to a new phone, Android may also transfer your gestures, what they open and your settings.
Permissions
Permissions
- Display over other apps and foreground service: only if you turn on the floating ring, so it can stay on the edge of your screen while you use other apps.
- Notifications: Android requires a notification while the ring is running.
- Run at startup: so the ring comes back after a restart, if you turned it on.
None of these is used to collect information.
Children
Children
Gesture is not directed at children and collects no information from anyone, including children.
